A dream that has been a blessing to so many lives. His involvement in Christian ministry spans 40 years including teaching, counseling, coaching, hospital ministries, prison ministries and service as church elder at Kalihi Union Church in Honolulu.
He grew up on Riverstreet in downtown Honolulu and excelled in athletics, receiving All-State football honors as a senior at Iolani School playing on both the football and basketball state championship teams. Following two years as starting running back at Compton Junior College in southern California, he joined the Army and later finished his studies at the University of Hawaii with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. Having married the former Evangeline Lee Kwai of Palama, they had four children: two sons and two daughters.
He coached football for Iolani School while serving at Kalihi Union Church. After a few years, his dream to receive formal biblical and theological training opened at Talbot School of Theology in La Mirada, California. Beginning at the age of 57 he finished the grueling three year program receiving his Master of Divinity and graduating with honors at the age of 60.
He was called to the pastoral staff of Kalihi Union Church and was ordained with his son, Danny. Following the death of his first wife Eva, God gave him a new work to fulfill. With a vision to plant a church growing from the days of seminary, he is now living the dream - giving his life for people in the name of Jesus Christ.
